Wear your retainer every night, forever. Make sure they fit to prevent teeth from shifting!
Gently brush the retainers with your toothbrush and toothpaste daily. An occasional soak in denture cleaner is helpful. When cleaning your retainers, use room temperature water. Hot/boiling water will melt your retainers.
Your retainers should be in their case if you are not wearing them.
Some common ways retainers are lost or broken are from being placed in pockets, eaten by pets, and wrapped in napkins and thrown away.
If a retainer is lost, cracked, or broken, please call for an appointment on the next business day! A significant delay may cause tooth movement that requires retreatment.
